Voice Over Recording Studios

Our Company

In January 1998 Clocktower started ticking, and 15 years later we’re still going strong. Specialising in professional voice over recording and production for business, we’re based at Carrington in South Manchester in a beautifully restored 19th century chapel. Our producers work from two spacious recording studios fully equipped with the latest technology including ISDN and TBU connections. Details can be found at our Studios page.

Our People

Bev Halliwell – MD and Production Director
Bev has been involved in corporate audio production since the early nineties and prior to that spent several years working at Manchester advertising agencies. Bev is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the business, particularly radio commercial production.

In her spare time Bev enjoys walking, gardening, cooking and Zumba, but not all at the same time!

Steve Halliwell – Commercial and Financial Director
Steve comes from a B2B management background and oversees finance and business development. Recordings for telecoms and video narrations are also often organised by Steve.

Outside work Steve enjoys walking, cycling, real ale and live music.




Rob Bee – Senior Sound Production Engineer
Rob has been with Clocktower since 2001 after gaining a diploma in Audio Engineering Techniques and Technology from The School of Sound Recording (SSR). He’s a wizard of the mixing desk and conducts most of his magical sessions from Studio 1.

When he’s not in the studio Rob is a keen birdwatcher, an active member of his local Church and an enthusiastic drinker of real ale.

Allen Vincent – Sound Production Engineer
Al joined us in 2006 fresh from qualifying at SSR. His in-depth knowledge of Pro-Tools is just one of the reasons he’s a highly skilled sound engineer and producer. Working mainly from Studio 2, Al has a very enthusiastic and creative approach to the job and is never short of words! He also manages the company web presence.

Never far from the mixing desk, Al writes, performs and produces his own music and also looks after his many pets.
